Lille bioinformatics engineers network

The bioinformatics engineers network aims to bring together the community of bioinformatics engineers from all laboratories and teams in Lille. Its main objective is to share knowledge on bioinformatics methods, tools and resources during convivial moments.

The network organises :

  • "cafés bioinfo", to share information and feedback over a drink or a meal. We also discuss during these informal moments topics to address or to develop through seminars/workshops/tutorials.
  • technical seminars and tutorials on technical topic animated by guest experts. They are open to the bioinformaticians, biostatisticians and biologists communities, as well as to engineers, researchers, thesis and master's students.
  • "coins techno",  animated by members of the network on a specific technical and technological topic to exchange and share personal experience.

Network members

More than 80 participants are registered on the mailing list. Most are "expert users" of bioinformatics tools and develop scripts to use and integrate existing tools. Several application fields are represented: genetic epidemiology analysis, transcriptome analysis, proteomics, genomics, NGS data analysis.

National network

In 2023, a national network of bioinformatics engineers (MERIT) was created, supported by the CNRS (https://merit.cnrs.fr/presentation/). This network aims to support the activities of local networks such as the one in Lille.
